Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slopey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Jawga Boyz - Rollin Like A Redneck. Chamakh comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Robyn - Indestructible kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Slopey Smith has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karim Chamakh!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

We've been hearing good reports from Smith's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chamakh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chamakh has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chamakh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chamakh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Smith has his foot on Chamakh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chamakh works his way back into a safe position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
