Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dakota Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dakota Brooks could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nick Hendricks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dakota Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Hendricks! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hendricks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brooks lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Brooks comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Brooks tries for a takedown but Hendricks circles away easily and Hendricks counters with a shoot takedown. Brooks fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hendricks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hendricks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brooks is looking to take this fight into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hendricks rushes Brooks and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Brooks keeps control of Hendricks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hendricks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brooks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brooks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Brooks lands a nice looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendricks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brooks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brooks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brooks moves out of range as Hendricks throws a body kick.
Brooks moves in looking to clinch but Hendricks pushes him off. Brooks scores with a punch to the head. Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hendricks paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brooks bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hendricks's head backwards. An inside leg kick from Hendricks misses. Hendricks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brooks to the ground. Hendricks is now in Brooks's guard. Brooks trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendricks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brooks working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hendricks has passed into half guard!
Hendricks thows a huge punch but Brooks dodges it nicely.
Hendricks uses his free foot to push down on Brooks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brooks. Hendricks tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. It looks like Hendricks might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendricks unloading with bombs! Hendricks looking for a guillotine from mount but Brooks is having none of it. Hendricks tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Brooks tries to lock up and control but Hendricks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hendricks lands with some strikes. Hendricks controlling his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Hendricks dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Brooks has his takedown stuffed and Hendricks counters with a body kick. Hendricks throws a low kick but Brooks moves out of range easily. Brooks is looking to clinch but Hendricks is avoiding it.
Brooks punishes Hendricks's body with a nice straight punch. Brooks digs a good hook to Hendricks's body.
Brooks tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hendricks counters with a straight right hand. Brooks has his takedown stuffed and Hendricks counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hendricks. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hendricks passes Brooks's left leg - he's now in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hendricks controlling the pace. Brooks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendricks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hendricks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brooks defends it well. Hendricks seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Brooks wants to sweep but Hendricks has passed to side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks is looking to reverse the position. Hendricks has hold of Brooks's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Brooks seems comfortable defending it but Hendricks has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Brooks is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Brooks is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hendricks couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Hendricks!
