Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neji Ryo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeru Takeya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neji Ryo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeru Takeya! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Takeya. Takeya tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ryo swivels and escapes. Takeya is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ryo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Takeru Takeya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takeya shoots in for a double leg but Ryo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Neji Ryo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeru Takeya. Takeya gets the takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ryo wants to control but Takeya postures up. Ryo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ryo tries to get out of the position. Takeya throwing shots but missing, from side control. Takeya working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Ryo defending against the ground and pound. Takeya misses with the ground and pound. Takeya tries to score with some ground and pound. Ryo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Takeya lands a nice forearm strike. Takeya misses with the ground and pound. Takeya lands an elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takeya postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

You can see the frustration on Ryo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Takeya. Takeya throws a strike aimed at the side of Ryo's head but Ryo avoids it well. Takeya misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ryo is looking to reverse the position. An elbow from Takeya crashes against the mat.
Takeya creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ryo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Takeya lands an elbow. Takeya throws a strike aimed at the side of Ryo's head but Ryo avoids it well. Ryo on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeya scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ryo to see if he's OK. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Takeya looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ryo is avoiding damage well.

Ryo tries to bench press Takeya off him but Takeya keeps the position. Takeya lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ryo down.

Takeya has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. This has been an exciting period of action! Takeya cracks Ryo with a big elbow. Ryo defending against the ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Takeya postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Takeru Takeya dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ryo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takeya. Ryo lands a jab. Takeya has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Takeya tries for a takedown but Ryo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Takeya on the wrong end of a nice hook. Ryo scores with the left hand. Takeya knows he should have avoided that one. Takeya has his takedown stuffed and Ryo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Neji Ryo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeru Takeya. Ryo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ryo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Takeya fails with the takedown and Takeya takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Takeya tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ryo defends well and Takeya ends up having to push Ryo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ryo trying to control but Takeya is working from the bottom. Ryo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Takeru Takeya has got the better of the ground game so far. Takeya utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryo looking to pass the guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Takeya wants to sweep but no luck. Takeya manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Takeya pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Takeya fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Takeya is landing with some decent strikes but Ryo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ryo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takeya on the ground. Takeya prevents Ryo from getting the reversal. Takeya landing punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Takeya has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ryo's face.

This has been an exciting period of action! Takeya throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
