Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Duncan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimasaki forces Duncan back against the cage and clinches. Duncan wants a takedown.
Duncan is working for takedown but Shimasaki is calmly controlling the position for now. Knees to the body from Shimasaki.
Shimasaki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duncan drives through with a takedown into Shimasaki's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Duncan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Duncan stands up over Shimasaki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Duncan postures up in Shimasaki's guard and throws a big left but Shimasaki blocks it. Duncan trying to control the position from guard on top but Shimasaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shimasaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Shimasaki, not yet. Duncan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Duncan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Shimasaki wants to get back to his feet but Duncan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Duncan wants to control from the top but Shimasaki keeps moving. Duncan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shimasaki keeping moving, preventing Duncan from controlling successfully. Shimasaki wants to get back to his feet but Duncan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Duncan lands a couple of decent looking shots. Shimasaki wants to stand up but Duncan is controlling him. Shimasaki looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shimasaki's head. Duncan gets to his feet and stands over Shimasaki, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Shimasaki felt that one! Duncan unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Shimasaki from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Duncan! An out of breath Eddie Duncan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. In defeat, Nobero Shimasaki stepped up to the mic, saying 'Battle Lost but the War continues Team Goroshi - Tokyo United Fightwear - Zombie Nutrition'.
