Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jose Mera was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrew Clark!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Mera!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mera fails with the takedown.
Clark lands a really nice looking cross but Mera seems unphased.
Mera throws a leg kick but Clark sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Clark scores with a head kick.
Mera walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Clark lands with a kick to the temple. Mera shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


Mera is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mera dodges the punch combination from Clark.

Clark rushes Mera and presses him up against the cage.
Clark lands a knee to the head.
Mera takes a knee right on the jaw!
Knees to the body from Clark.
Mera misses with the head strike.
Clark with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Mera is still on wobbly legs! Can Clark finish him?
Clark working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Clark scores with a knee to the head.
Mera tries to pull guard but Clark won't allow it.
Clark scores a nice knee to the body.
Mera takes a knee to the side of the body.
Clark landing knees to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clark crunches a lovely knee into Mera's ribcage.
Clark blocking some punches.
Clark connects with a nasty looking knee right to Mera's face.
Clark connects with a knee to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mera.
Clark jerks Mera's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Mera drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Clark goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Clark because Mera was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Andrew Clark!
Andrew Clark retains his featherweight title!
In his post fight interview, Andrew Clark started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
