Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between jack swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
swanson throws a head kick that misses.
Cross is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cross tries for a takedown but swanson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
swanson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cross counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Cross pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. swanson is keeping the position for now.
Cross wants to control from the top but swanson keeps moving.
Cross is looking to work some ground and pound but swanson has wrist control.
Cross stands up and waves to swanson to follow him.
swanson clinches up with Cross and pushes him back against the cage.

Cross drops down looking for an ankle pick but swanson pulls his leg out and moves away.
swanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cross moves away.

The crowd cheers as swanson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cross doesn't seem phased though.

swanson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. swanson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

swanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground.

Joe Cross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cross shoots for a takedown but swanson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Joe Cross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cross winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
