Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Noel Severino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Chalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chalas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Chubby Jag-U.O.E.N.O kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noel Severino! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luis Chalas! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severino stalks Chalas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chalas's face. Chalas staggers backwards, shaken. Chalas moves into the clinch. Chalas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chalas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Severino pinned against the cage. Severino gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Severino finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A shot to the body from Severino misses and Chalas counters by clinching up. Chalas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chalas goes for a double leg but Severino avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Severino continues to drive forward. Chalas lands with a right to the head. Severino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chalas lands with a left to the head. Chalas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chalas has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Chalas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Severino defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chalas. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee warns Severino that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chalas manages to capitalize on a mistake by Severino to take his back! Severino trying to get back to his feet but Chalas is in full control for now. A lull in the action here.

This one could be all over! But no, Severino has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Chalas is trying to stick to Severino's back but Severino is turning into Chalas. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chalas's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Severino. Chalas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chalas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Severino got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chalas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Severino has managed to get both his arms back between Chalas's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Severino drops back looking for a leg! Chalas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chalas manages to kick Severino off! Severino jumps back into Chalas's guard. Chalas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Chalas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Severino is aware though and is defending well. Severino throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chalas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Severino defends it easily. Chalas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Severino, pushing him back against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Severino. Severino can't find room to land a body shot as Chalas controls the action.
Chalas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Chalas closes the distance and clinches up with Severino, looking for a takedown. Chalas pushes Severino against the cage but Severino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chalas dives in for a single leg takedown but Severino sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Chalas cracks Severino with a nice body shot. A nice left hand lands by Chalas.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Severino lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Chalas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Chalas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Severino smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chalas clinches up against the cage. Chalas can't find room to land a body shot as Severino controls the action.

Severino wants to get back to his feet but Chalas drags him back down. The ground and pound from Chalas seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Severino is looking for a sweep. Severino gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Chalas is trying to control the action in half guard but Severino is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Chalas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Severino sees it coming and defends easily. Chalas is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Severino is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Luis Chalas! Luis Chalas retains his bantamweight title! Jumping up and down and very excited, Luis Chalas waved his t-shirt featuring Hellraiser FightGear's logo in front of the cameras.
