Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daiki Hitoshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zoran Obradovic! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Obradovic stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Obradovic wants it to stay on the feet. Obradovic slips a straight right by Hitoshi. Hitoshi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Obradovic can pounce on him.
Hitoshi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Hitoshi loads up on a big right hand but Obradovic slips the punch. Zoran Obradovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hitoshi misses with a straight right. Obradovic takes one to the side of the head.
Obradovic is looking to land body kicks. Hitoshi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Obradovic avoids it really well and circles away. Hitoshi moves away from the strike by Obradovic. We've been hearing reports that Hitoshi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hitoshi throws a series of punches but Obradovic moves out of range. Obradovic moves out of range of the strikes. Hitoshi misses the shot to the body. Obradovic tries to sprawl but Hitoshi drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hitoshi sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Obradovic defending well though. Obradovic is defending against the submission attempts here by Hitoshi.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hitoshi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Obradovic's head. Obradovic is looking to improve his position.
Hitoshi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Obradovic can do anything to dispel that myth. Hitoshi uses his free foot to push down on Obradovic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Obradovic. Hitoshi thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitoshi unloads with some shots from mount but Obradovic bucks and avoids them well.
The referee warns Obradovic that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Obradovic told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Obradovic can't escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hitoshi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hitoshi connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hitoshi looking to ground and pound but Obradovic is blocking nicely. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hitoshi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Obradovic because Hitoshi loaded up on that one. Obradovic avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hitoshi.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitoshi looking to finish Obradovic with some ground and pound. This is bad for Obradovic! Hitoshi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Obradovic is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hitoshi unloading with bombs! Hitoshi breaks from Obradovic's wrist control and lands an elbow. Hitoshi raining down shots from the mount!
Obradovic is rocked! Hitoshi postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Obradovic in real trouble here! The ref calls for Obradovic to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daiki Hitoshi! Daiki Hitoshi managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, KAISER, into his post fight interview.
