Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Kramer!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Chavez as he connects with a hook.
Chavez swings widly with a right hand

and Kramer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kramer trying to control but Chavez is working from the bottom.
Chavez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kramer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chavez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kramer has managed to get both his arms back between Chavez's legs - danger averted.
Kramer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kramer slips nicely into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chavez has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kramer escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kramer!
Chavez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Chavez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kramer cracks Chavez with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Chavez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kramer connects with a decent elbow.
Kramer cracks Chavez with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kramer immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Chavez is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kramer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Kramer!
