Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boans with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling De La Hoya to score with a decent uppercut.
De La Hoya misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
De La Hoya moves out of range as Boans strikes.
Boans gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and De La Hoya counters with a head kick that drops Boans to the mat! Boans scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De La Hoya scoring well with a low kick there.
Boans misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
De La Hoya throws a head kick but Boans moves out of range.

De La Hoya leaves Boans with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Roger De La Hoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Boans.

Boans avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boans is trying desperately to land a takedown but De La Hoya is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Boans.

A slapping leg kick lands for De La Hoya.
Boans throws a hook but De La Hoya blocks it.
De La Hoya pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
De La Hoya looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
De La Hoya pushes Boans up against the cage in a clinch.
De La Hoya breaks the clinch.
De La Hoya darts in and clinches Boans up against the cage.
De La Hoya crunches a lovely knee into Boans's ribcage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De La Hoya has Boans pressed against the cage, preventing Boans from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
De La Hoya breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De La Hoya tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Boans throws a series of punches but De La Hoya moves out of range.
De La Hoya tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
De La Hoya throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Jon Boans has been cut.
De La Hoya moves into range and clinches up with Boans.
De La Hoya breaks the clinch.
De La Hoya keeps Boans at a distance using the push kick.
De La Hoya lands with an uppercut that bounces Boans off the cage and back into range.
Boans tries for a takedown but De La Hoya circles away easily
and De La Hoya counters with a head kick that drops Boans to the mat! Boans scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Boans is rocked!
De La Hoya throws a nice inside leg kick.
Boans sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Boans looks winded!
De La Hoya connects with an inside leg kick.
De La Hoya lands a big head kick that sends Boans tumbling to the mat! De La Hoya takes a step backwards and waves Boans back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Boans is still on wobbly legs! Can De La Hoya finish him?
Ouch! a nice leg kick from De La Hoya, right into the meat.
Boans seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
De La Hoya lands with a thumping leg kick.
De La Hoya sends Boans crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! De La Hoya is motioning to the referee to let Boans up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Boans is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boans has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from De La Hoya.
De La Hoya and Boans are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. De La Hoya throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Boans into next week! Ooooh that was huge! De La Hoya knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Roger De La Hoya!
