Kitano comes to the cage accompanied by Zeni Geva: Slam King . Howlett has chosen Time of Dying by Three Days Grace as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett lands with a good body shot.

Kitano clinches with his opponent.
Kitano using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Howlett has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Kitano lands a hook that snaps the head of Howlett backwards.

It looks like James Howlett has been cut.
Howlett fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kitano lands a hook to the side of the head.
Howlett's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Howlett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kitano smiles and moves away.
Howlett pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Howlett tests Kitano's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howlett works over Kitano's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Kenji Kitano has been cut.
Howlett feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kitanos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kitano tries to clinch but Howlett moves out of range.
A combination from Kitano does no damage.
Howlett just misses with a punch to the body.
Howlett is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Howlett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Howlett looks to throw the jab but Kitano is out of range.

Howlett has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Kitano has closed the distance and engaged Howlett in a clinch.
Kitano scores with a shot to the side of Howlett's head.
Kitano lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Howlett wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kitano lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Howlett backwards.

Howlett wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Howlett blocks an uppercut.

Kitano misses with a punch on the inside.

Kitano working the clinch nicely. Howlett is working for position but Kitano cracks him with a big knee to the head! Howlett crumples up against the cage and Kitano lands two more shots before the ref can save Howlett! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee & Punches). Kenji Kitano!
Kenji Kitano spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
