The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manalo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Giatay sprawls well initially but Manalo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giatay won't allow Manalo to pass to mount.
Giatay regains full guard. Nicely done.
Manalo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Manalo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
