The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trussell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Trussell throws a wild body kick that Lohan sees coming a mile off.

Trussell closes the distance and clinches.
Trussell tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lohan tries to score a body lock takedown but Trussell shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Trussell tries to land a knee to the head but Lohan blocks with his arms.
Trussell tries a knee to the head but Lohan blocks it.
Trussell with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Trussell will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lohan up against the cage.
Lohan jumps guard but Trussell stands there with Lohan around his waist. Lohan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Trussell throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lohan blocks it with crossed arms.

Trussell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Trussell stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amir Lohan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Trussell moves into the clinch successfully.
Lohan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Trussell prevents it.
Trussell is pressed up against the cage. Lohan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trussell down to the mat. Trussell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Trussell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lohan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Trussell wants to clinch but Lohan slips to the side

and Lohan counters with a single leg into guard. Trussell didn't expect that.
Trussell is trying to keep Lohan in close.
Lohan is looking to work some ground and pound but Trussell has wrist control.

Lohan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lohan wants to control from the top but Trussell keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lohan tries to free his leg and advance position but Trussell is retaining full guard.
Lohan trying to control the position from guard on top but Trussell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lohan is really struggling to control Trussell but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Amir Lohan just wasn't active enough.
Lohan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Trussell lands with a kick to the ribs.
A solid leg kick lands there for Trussell.
Trussell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lohan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Trussell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Trussell doesn't manage to clinch there - Lohan circles away.
Lohan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Trussell pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lohan is out of range and Trussell settles back down.

Trussell moves into range and clinches up with Lohan.
Trussell tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Trussell with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Trussell misses with a knee to the head.

Lohan jumps guard.

Lohan working for a triangle but Trussell defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lohan is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Trussell rolls with it to try and escape but Lohan cranks on the arm and Trussell is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
