Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Berzins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chester Man! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Man there.
It looks like Josh Berzins has been cut. Berzins gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Man pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Berzins back to the cage. Man follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Man lands with a nice body punch. Man lands a jab. Chester Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Berzins just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Man lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Nice jab there from Man. A momentary lapse in concentration from Man enables Berzins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Man manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Berzins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Man is keeping the position for now. Berzins trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berzins throws a big elbow that misses. Berzins sitting in guard, not really doing much. Berzins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Berzins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Berzins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Man dives on top into guard. Man wants to stand and escape but instead Berzins has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chester Man was stalling too much, according to the referee. Man scores with a jab. Berzins doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Man looks to land a combination but Berzins avoids it well. Berzins on the wrong end of a nice jab. Berzins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Man to the mat! Man manages to get full guard. Berzins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Man is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Man can do anything to dispel that myth. Berzins trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.

Man keeping moving, preventing Berzins from controlling successfully. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Berzins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Man pinned against the cage. Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Berzins takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chester Man dominated that round. The cut man is working on Josh Berzins's cut. That's time! Berzins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Man misses with a hook. A right-left combo lands from Man. Man throws a good cross that connects.
Berzins keeps the fight on the outside. Berzins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Berzins fails with the takedown. Man swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Berzins. Man works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Man misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Berzins shoots in and bounces Man off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Berzins wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving. Man bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Berzins's guard. Man wants to stand but Berzins is controlling his posture from full guard. Berzins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Berzins trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Man wants to hold on but Berzins pushes him away. Berzins thowing shots but they're missing. Berzins misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man wants to hold on but Berzins pushes him away. Man felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Berzins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Man is looking to escape. Man tries to hold on but Berzins postures up. Berzins controlling the position easily from mount. Berzins tries to control but Man wriggling away. Berzins has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Man is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Berzins sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Berzins wants to control the pace but Man is squirming around nicely. Man is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Berzins misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

A close second round but Chester Man will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Josh Berzins's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
A decent looking cross lands there for Man. Chester Man seems to be getting the better of the standup. A lazy left from Man finds it's target. Berzins has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Berzins there as he acknowledges the shot. Man throws a hook but Berzins blocks it. Berzins takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Man bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Berzins's head. Man stuffs the takedown. Man has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Man lands a jab to the head.

Berzins shoots in but no luck this time. Berzins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Man uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Berzins has time to react. Man swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Berzins shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Man tests Berzins's chin there with a solid looking shot. Chester Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good standup being displayed there by Man as he connects with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Man's jab looks to have found its range, popping Berzins under the eye. Berzins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Man manages to avoid it. Man throws a looping overhand right but Berzins ducks down to avoid it. Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Berzins.
Man is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Berzins tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Man defends well and Berzins ends up having to push Man into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Berzins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Still in the clinch, Man scores with a nice short uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Berzins wants to break the clinch but can't.
Man lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Man avoids a wild elbow strike from Berzins. Man lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Man breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Berzins on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Man drives through and clinches with Berzins against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Berzins throws an elbow but misses. Berzins trying to stall but Man improves his position.
Man's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Berzins slips a jab and a cross from Man.
Berzins looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Man takes a swing at Berzins's ribcage but misses. Man smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Man scores with the left hand. Berzins knows he should have avoided that one. Man has Berzins up against the cage in a clinch.
Man lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Berzins backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Berzins misses with some punches.
Man manages to break the clinch.
Berzins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Man was covering up waiting for the punch and Berzins finishes the takedown easily into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Man trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Berzins looking to sit in guard and control but Man gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Berzins looking to control but Man passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Chester Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Man winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
