The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McFinnigan takes a body punch but keeps moving. McFinnigan closes the distance and clinches. McFinnigan lands a shoulder strike. CanChopper lands an elbow inside that McFinnigan shrugs off.
It looks like Mickey McFinnigan has been cut. McFinnigan lands a body punch. McFinnigan pushes CanChopper back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. CanChopper looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! CanChopper creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Good body shot from McFinnigan.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McFinnigan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. McFinnigan misses with a hook to the ribs.

CanChopper is rocked! McFinnigan dips a shoulder and cracks CanChopper with a mighty uppercut! CanChopper falls back against the cage and McFinnigan unloads with a barrage of strikes! CanChopper is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - McFinnigan screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey McFinnigan! Mickey McFinnigan was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
