Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Magus Arbenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Woodcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magus Arbenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Woodcock!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arbenson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Woodcock.
Arbenson staying out of range there.
Woodcock fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Arbenson on the side of the head.
Arbenson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Woodcock with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Woodcock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Woodcock misses with a looping left.
Arbenson scoring well with a low kick there.
Arbenson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woodcock.
Woodcock rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arbenson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Arbenson.
Arbenson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Woodcock shoots in and drives through. Arbenson sprawls well.

Arbenson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Arbenson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Woodcock has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Arbenson has passed into side control.
Woodcock wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Woodcock is working to avoid the ground and pound but Arbenson connects with a decent elbow.
Woodcock is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Woodcock seems a little lost for a moment, as Arbenson dominates the positioning.
Woodcock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Woodcock tries to improve position but can't.
Woodcock tries to escape but Arbenson is in control.
Woodcock is looking to regain half guard here but Arbenson keeps moving and retains side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Woodcock keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Arbenson looking to control but Woodcock is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Magus Arbenson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Arbenson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Woodcock's calf.
Arbenson throws a low kick, looking for Woodcock's leg but Woodcock calmly moves out of range.
Arbenson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Arbenson.
The fighters circling - Woodcock throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Woodcock throws a looping overhand right but Arbenson ducks down to avoid it.
Arbenson throws a nice outside leg kick.
A combination from Woodcock does no damage.
Woodcock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Woodcock throws out a loose jab but Arbenson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Arbenson drops his hands momentarily and Woodcock takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Woodcock throws a shot from downtown. Arbenson moves away and avoids it.

and Woodcock counters with a shoot takedown. Arbenson fights it but they end up in guard.
Arbenson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Arbenson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Woodcock manages to get himself to full guard.

Woodcock wants to hit a switch here but Arbenson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Woodcock there!

That was a close second round but I would say that Magus Arbenson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Woodcock misses with a takedown
and Arbenson counters with an inside leg kick.
Arbenson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Woodcock's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Arbenson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Woodcock sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Woodcock tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Arbenson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Woodcock. That did some damage!

Arbenson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Woodcock's head.

Magus Arbenson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Arbenson manages to get back to half guard.
Woodcock thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Arbenson is looking to control Woodcock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Arbenson avoid being mounted?
Woodcock tries to stand but can't do so whilst Arbenson controls his leg.
James Woodcock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Arbenson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
