Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thurgood Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimi Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins comes to the cage accompanied by Mary Jane. Jimi Hendrix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thurgood Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimi Hendrix! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Jenkins as he connects with a hook. Hendrix scores with a jab. Hendrix will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jenkins slips a straight right by Hendrix. A leg kick checked by Hendrix. Jenkins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hendrix uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jenkins. Hendrix tries a head kick but it misses.
Hendrix throws a sloppy head kick and Jenkins moves out of range easily. Nice defenses there by Jenkins. Hendrix swinging wildly here.
Jenkins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. An elbow from Jenkins crashes against the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins is trying to ground and pound but Hendrix uses the momentary lack of control by Jenkins to regain half guard. Jenkins trying to control from half guard but Hendrix is working away. Hendrix keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hendrix told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jenkins trying to mount his opponent but Hendrix defends it. Jenkins not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jenkins sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Thurgood Jenkins just wasn't active enough. Hendrix looks to throw the jab but Jenkins is out of range. Hendrix misses with a wild combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hendrix backs up against the cage.
Hendrix throws a shot from downtown. Jenkins moves away and avoids it. Hendrix ducks under a wild hook from Jenkins. Hendrix jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hendrix pushes Jenkins up against the cage in a clinch. Hendrix tries a knee to the head but Jenkins blocks it.
Hendrix is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hendrix uses from the top position. Jenkins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Thurgood Jenkins wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Hendrix lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hendrix. This has been an exciting period of action! Hendrix takes one to the side of the head.

and Jenkins makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hendrix lunges at Jenkins with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jenkins's hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thurgood Jenkins will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Jenkins counters with a shoot takedown. Hendrix fights it but they end up in guard. Jenkins sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jenkins pushes down on Hendrix's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jenkins wants to control but Hendrix is keeping him busy.

Jenkins is staying tight to Hendrix's torso, preventing him from escaping. Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hendrix keeps working. Jenkins lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendrix regains half guard, as Jenkins was trying to land strikes. Jenkins prevents Hendrix from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins trying to control from Hendrix's half guard. Hendrix has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hendrix is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jenkins is controlling him. Jenkins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Jenkins counters with a shoot takedown. Hendrix fights it but they end up in guard. Thurgood Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jenkins postures up in Hendrix's guard and throws a big left but Hendrix blocks it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hendrix wants to stand up but Jenkins is controlling him. Jenkins stays in close to Hendrix's body and controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Thurgood Jenkins dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jenkins.
Jenkins throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hendrix. Jenkins turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nice shot lands for Jenkins. Hendrix throws a head kick but Jenkins moves out of range.
Jenkins scores with a punch to the head. Jenkins with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A punch lands to the side of Hendrix 's head but he takes it in his stride. Hendrix darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Hendrix works over Jenkins's head and body with a nice combination. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jenkins, right into the meat.

and Hendrix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jenkins bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hendrix's head backwards. Hendrix misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hendrix with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jenkins to score with a decent uppercut. Jenkins cracks the inside of Hendrix's front leg. Hendrix tries a head kick but it misses.
Jenkins throws a quick inside leg kick. Hendrix staying out of range there. Nice shot lands for Jenkins. Jenkins cracks Hendrix with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Hendrix scores with a head kick. Jenkins tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Hendrix keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jenkins. Hendrix throws a leg kick but Jenkins checks it. Hendrix throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jenkins's head. Jenkins walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jenkins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hendrix to the mat! Hendrix manages to get full guard. Jenkins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hendrix's head. Thurgood Jenkins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins wants to control from the top but Hendrix keeps moving. Jenkins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The strikes coming from Jenkins are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jenkins misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins is looking to take a break and control but Hendrix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hendrix takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins wants to control but Hendrix is keeping him busy. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Jenkins is really struggling to control Hendrix but he's trying to hold on to the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Thurgood Jenkins. Jenkins misses the shot to the body. Hendrix missing with a left hand there. Jenkins was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And that's the end of the fight! Thurgood Jenkins showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jenkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
