Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrej Kavelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Atte Peltola! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peltola circles away from the clinch attempt.
Peltola has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kavelin is landing a low percentage of strikes. No joy there for Kavelin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kavelin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Peltola shoots in looking for a takedown. Kavelin tries to sprawl out of it but Peltola keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kavelin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Peltola connects with a crisp jab. Peltola bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kavelin is looking to reverse the position. Kavelin struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peltola working the ground and pound. Kavelin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kavelin is trying to control Peltola's posture but Peltola avoids it. Peltola is looking to take a break and control but Kavelin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kavelin is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kavelin struggling a bit here. Peltola is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Kavelin is trying to improve his position. Peltola takes a little break here. Kavelin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Kavelin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Peltola throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kavelin's waist but Kavelin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peltola off to one side. Kavelin tests Peltola's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kavelin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Peltola misses with an uppercut
and Kavelin counters with a one-two to the body. Peltola goes for a double leg but Kavelin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kavelin continues to drive forward. Andrej Kavelin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Atte Peltola. The referee is keeping an eye on Kavelin - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kavelin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Peltola misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Peltola lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kavelin backwards. Peltola misses with a short punch on the inside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peltola looking for a takedown. Peltola is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kavelin wants to break free but Peltola has control.
Kavelin lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Kavelin tries for a takedown but Peltola manages to get underhooks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peltola trying to stall but Kavelin improves his position.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kavelin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Peltola misses with a hook to the ribs.
A frustrated look appears on Kavelin's face as he tries to break the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peltola lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kavelin backwards. Peltola trying to stall but Kavelin improves his position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Atte Peltola will probably get the nod. That's time! Kavelin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kavelin lands a jab-cross combination. Andrej Kavelin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Peltola blocks a jab. Peltola shoots in and drives through. Kavelin sprawls well. Sloppy strikes from Kavelin. Those never looked like landing. Kavelin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Peltola works Kavelin's body with a nice hook. Kavelin missing with a left hand there. Peltola was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kavelin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Peltola takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Peltola cracks Kavelin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kavelin moves out of range as Peltola strikes. Kavelin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Peltola. A telegraphed right hand from Kavelin misses the target. Peltola throws out a loose jab but Kavelin uses good head movement to avoid it. Kavelin looks to land a right hand but Peltola moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peltola throws a lazy uppercut
and Kavelin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Peltola with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kavelin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Kavelin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Peltola. Peltola tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Peltola connects with a looping right hand.
Kavelin is rocked! Kavelin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Peltola counters with a crisp right that sends Kavelin to the canvas! Peltola follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Atte Peltola! Atte Peltola tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
