Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wasim Kayani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takahiro Jouda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kayani kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Audioslave - Exploder. Wasim Kayani could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takahiro Jouda's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wasim Kayani! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Takahiro Jouda! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jouda dives in and grabs Kayani's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kayani pushes down on Jouda's head and hops out. Jouda tries to clinch up and Jouda takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Good exchange - Jouda coming out on top. Kayani with a hook. Kayani lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Some bone on bone action there as Jouda checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Kayani connects with an inside leg kick. Jouda lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jouda fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A swing and a miss from Kayani. Kayani steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jouda. Kayani scores with a takedown into Jouda's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kayani loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kayani trying to control the position from guard on top but Jouda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jouda looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kayani is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kayani with a flurry of punches that miss. Jouda working a defensive guard here.
Kayani loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kayani throwing strikes from guard but Jouda blocks nicely. Kayani postures up.
Kayani is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Jouda wants to improve his position but instead Kayani has moved into half guard.
We've been hearing that Kayani has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Jouda has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kayani is working away from the top position though. Jouda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kayani.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jouda tries to roll over but Kayani keeps him under control. Jouda wants to control but Kayani is keeping busy.
Kayani throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kayani seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jouda is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Wasim Kayani! Wasim Kayani decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
