Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rye Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pettis's choice of entrance music: Pettis. Rye Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rye Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pettis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lee tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pettis sneaks back into half guard. Lee not landing any meaningful shots this time. Pettis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pettis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee. Pettis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pettis manages to get to full guard.
Lee scoring with punches to the head and body. This has been an exciting period of action! Lee passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lee tries to score with some ground and pound. Pettis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Pettis is looking for a sweep. Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pettis on the ground. Lee tries to stand but Pettis controls the position and pulls Lee into his guard. Lee throws a strike but Pettis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lee looking to control but Pettis passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pettis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pettis. Pettis seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt. Lee tries to kick Pettis off but Pettis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee wants to get back to full guard. Lee is pressing down on Pettis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Pettis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pettis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee. Pettis told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Lee wants to stand but Pettis is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rye Lee dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pettis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee. Pettis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lee's half guard. Pettis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pettis stops Lee from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee wants to get back to full guard. Pettis has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lee defend it? Pettis steps over the head and cranks it - Lee is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pettis!
