Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Fowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oberyn Martell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fowler comes to the cage accompanied by "On The Hunt" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Austin Fowler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oberyn Martell! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fowler tries for a takedown but Martell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Oberyn Martell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Martell leaves Fowler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Austin Fowler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fowler defending well as Martell loads up on a big left hand. Fowler dives in and scores a takedown into Martell's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Fowler with a flurry of punches that miss. Fowler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Martell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Fowler throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fowler throws an elbow that misses. Martell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fowler's guard. Nice move by Martell! Fowler seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Fowler is trying to keep Martell in close.
Martell stopping the sweep attempt from Fowler. Martell is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Fowler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martell's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fowler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fowler with a flurry of punches that miss. Martell is pulling down on Fowler's head. It's preventing any offense from Fowler, at least for the moment. Fowler won't allow Martell to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fowler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Martell preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Fowler throws a strike but Martell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Martell has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fowler to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Martell is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fowler pulls down on the head and he's put Martell to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Austin Fowler! Austin Fowler gave a mention to CEC Nutrition Q160 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
