And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grant Vanguard!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanguard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Grant Vanguard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vanguard throws a leg kick but Summer checks it.
Vanguard has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Summer is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Vanguard lands a leg kick that knocks Summer off balance momentarily.
Vanguard throws a sloppy head kick and Summer moves out of range easily.
Summer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vanguard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vanguard thows a body shot but no joy.
Summer shoots in but Vanguard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Summer looks to clinch
and Vanguard counters with a stiff right hand.
Summer throws a low kick but Vanguard avoids it.
Summer tries to clinch up.
Vanguard swats away the attempt to clinch by Summer.
Summer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Summer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vanguard is fending him off so far but Summer persists. Nope, Vanguard circles away and we're back to standing.
Vanguard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Summer. Vanguard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vanguard scores with a kick to the midsection.
Vanguard throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Summer's head.


It looks like Andrew Summer has been cut.

Vanguard motions for Summer to come forward. Vanguard throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've been told by Summer's head coaches at Academy of Combat that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vanguard throws a front kick aimed at Summer's knee but Summer avoids it well.

Vanguard tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Summer is able to avoid easily.
Summer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vanguard's waist but Vanguard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Summer off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Summer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vanguard avoids a punch combination nicely.

Summer closes the distance and clinches.
Vanguard softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Vanguard blocks an elbow strike.
Vanguard lands with a short shot to the head.
Vanguard misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Vanguard avoids the elbow strike from Summer, against the cage.
Vanguard presses Summer against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Summer goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Summer lands a nice knee to the body.

Vanguard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vanguard throws a head kick but Summer moves out of range.

Vanguard looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Vanguard circles away from the clinch attempt.
Summer wants to clinch up but Vanguard keeps it at a distance.

Vanguard lands a left and a right that send Summer crashing to the mat, dazed. Vanguard thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Summer is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Summer tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Vanguard counters with a slapping leg kick.
Oh Summer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Summer is breathing heavily.
Vanguard feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Summer collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Grant Vanguard!
