Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Stenner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason comes to the cage accompanied by Hed pe - Renegade. Stenner has chosen Escapado - Freiraum as his entrance music. Mark Mason has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Stenner!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stenner slips a jab from Mason.
Stenner closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Mason counter with a right hand.
Stenner looks to clinch
and Mason counters with a one-two to the body.
Stenner tries to close the distance and clinch but Mason swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stenner paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Stenner ducks under a wild hook from Mason.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stenner wants to clinch
and Mason counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Stenner feints a jab promting Mason to slip. Stenner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mason slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

We've been hearing reports that Mason has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Stenner's coach down at NEXUS GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stenner's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Mason catches Stenner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stenner gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Stenner tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Mason is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Stenner buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Stenner!! Stenner is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Mason throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Mason!
