PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Marchand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Brad Marchand has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Marchand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deon Walker!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker fails to land the takedown.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt
and Walker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Deon Walker has been cut.
Walker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marchand sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Walker somewhat.
Brad Marchand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deon Walker.
Walker shoots in but Marchand avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Walker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marchand swivels and escapes.
Marchand rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Walker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marchand to the ground. Walker is now in Marchand's guard.
Walker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Marchand is pulling down on Walker's head. It's preventing any offense from Walker, at least for the moment.
Marchand wants to stand up but Walker is controlling him.

Walker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marchand knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Marchand prevents Walker from escaping the position.

Marchand is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Walker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marchand asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Well Marchand has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
