9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Buffy Slayer! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. McAlister misses with a hook. Slayer ducked under it nicely. McAlister tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Slayer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McAlister throws out the jab. McAlister fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Buffy Slayer has been cut. Duncan McAlister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McAlister throws a big shot that misses. McAlister cracks Slayer with a big right hand and Slayer goes down!
Slayer is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McAlister sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Slayer's guard. Slayer is still in real trouble! Can McAlister finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. McAlister is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Slayer! McAlister works his way to his opponent's back.
McAlister is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Slayer taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from McAlister.
