Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chico Trindade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jones! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones clinches up with Trindade and pushes him back against the ropes. Jones tries to throw a body punch but Trindade avoids it by throwing Jones back against the ropes. Jones tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Jones scores with a shot to the side of Trindade's head. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch. Trindade can't break the clinch.
Jones has Trindade pushed against the ropes. Trindade is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position. Jones keeps control of Trindade as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jones stalling in the clinch.
Jones doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Jones lands a body punch. Trindade wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sloppy strikes from Trindade. Those never looked like landing. Jones tries to clinch there but Trindade circles away.
Jim Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Trindade looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones moves into range and clinches up with Trindade. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Jones throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jones lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Trindade backwards.
It looks like Chico Trindade has been cut. Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch. Trindade is trying to break free. Jones lands with a light punch inside. Jones lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Trindade or not. Trindade is breathing heavily. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Trindade sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones rushes Trindade and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones digs a right hand into Trindade's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Trindade's gas tank. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones takes the fight into the clinch. A short right from Jones. Trindade stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Trindade has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jones taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Jones lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Jones tries to pull guard but Trindade holds him up against the ropes and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
Jones is leaning against Trindade and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones slows down the pace here.
Jones manages to break the clinch.
Trindade closes the distance and lands a one-two. Trindade throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones tries to clinch but Trindade is having none of it. Trindade keeps the fight on the outside. Jones closes the distance and pushes Trindade back into the ropes. Jones scores with a hook to the body. Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Trindade controls his hands.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trindade throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones wants to clinch up but Trindade keeps it at a distance. Jones wants to clinch. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Trindade swats him away and circles back towards the center. Trindade looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Trindade throws a combination that misses and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Jones dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the ropes. Nice body punch from Jones - that landed with a thud.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Trindade being controlled against the ropes. Jones lands on the inside with an uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chico Trindade's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Trindade sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jab from Trindade. Trindade gets tackled into the ropes by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch. Jones breaks from the clinch.

Jones lands a hook to the side of the head. Nice body punch from Jones - that landed with a thud.

Trindade is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trindade, pushing him back against the ropes. Oh Trindade is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jim Jones seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Jones lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Trindade or not. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jones. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones successfully pulls guard.
Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trindade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trindade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jones is tightening it up a little... Trindade has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Trindade reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Trindade taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jones!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jim Jones! Jim Jones decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
