Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Graham Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Te Huna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Te Huna is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Graham Du!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Te Huna!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Te Huna dives in and scores a takedown into Du's guard.
Du is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Du on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Du tries to get out of the position.

Du has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Te Huna can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Te Huna passes into half guard.
Du keeping hold of Te Huna's head, controlling as best he can.
Te Huna thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Te Huna looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Du is looking to improve his position.

Te Huna trying to control from half guard but Du is working away.
Du has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Te Huna is working away from the top position though.
Te Huna is trying to control the action in half guard but Du is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Du tries to get to full guard but Te Huna has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Te Huna moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Te Huna scores with a shot to the body.

Te Huna fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Du tries to score a power double leg takedown but Te Huna sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Du somewhat.
Du shoots for a double leg takedown but Te Huna sprawls well. He's pushed Du's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Du is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Graham Du wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A jab from Te Huna finds it's way through Du's defenses.
Te Huna punishes Du's body with a nice straight punch.
Te Huna connects with the punch.
Du shoots in looking for a takedown. Te Huna tries to sprawl out of it but Du keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Te Huna manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Graham Du. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Te Huna scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Du shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Du is breathing heavily.
Du takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Du takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Du takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Te Huna lands with a nice body punch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Du on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Te Huna feints and as Du raises his hands in defense, Te Huna changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Te Huna throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Du will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Te Huna lands a couple of elbows.
Du keeping full guard, as Te Huna tries to pass.
Te Huna trying to control but Du is working from the bottom.
Du working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Te Huna.
Te Huna won't allow Du to sweep him here.
Te Huna wants to pass the guard but Du is keeping the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

James Te Huna dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Du takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Du fails with an attempt to clinch.
Te Huna lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Du at a distance.
Te Huna connects with a body shot.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Du.

Du tries to move into full mount but can't pass Te Huna's legs.

Te Huna is not content to let Du control the position.
Te Huna is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Du off and has taken his back!

Te Huna thows a strike but Du uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Du as he ends up in Te Huna 's guard!
Du in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Te Huna seems keen to control Du's posture.
James Te Huna has got the better of the ground game so far.
Du throws an elbow that misses. Te Huna uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Du's guard. Nice move by Te Huna!

Du tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Du can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Te Huna controls the pace.
Du seems keen to control Te Huna's posture.
Te Huna trying to control but Du is working from the bottom.
Te Huna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Du swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Te Huna was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Te Huna connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Du tries for a takedown but Te Huna sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nice straight punches there by Te Huna. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Te Huna.

Du changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Te Huna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The strikes coming from Du are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Du throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Du trying to control the action but Te Huna is working from the bottom.
Du is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Du looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Du happy to just control the position for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Te Huna wants to control but Du postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Graham Du will probably get the nod.
That's time! Du's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Du gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Te Huna to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Du wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Du is on top in guard.
Du throwing strikes from guard but Te Huna blocks nicely.

Du is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Te Huna is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Du postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Du trying to control the position from guard on top but Te Huna is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Graham Du wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Du drives through and clinches with Te Huna against the ropes.

Te Huna works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Du keeping moving, preventing Te Huna from controlling successfully.

Du looking to hit a scissor sweep but Te Huna is one step ahead there.
Du wants to stand and escape but Te Huna is having none of it.
Te Huna looking to sit in guard and control but Du gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Du trying to control but Te Huna is working from the bottom.

Du scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Du accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Du throws a strike but Te Huna rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Du is looking to stand up but Te Huna isn't so interested in that idea.

Du looking for a guillotine here but Te Huna defends easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Graham Du showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Du has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
