Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Payton Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez comes to the cage accompanied by Puya -- Sal Pa' Fuera. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesus Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Payton Wright! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright avoids the head kick by Martinez.
Wright scores with a shot to the body.
Martinez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Martinez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Wright scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Wright lunges at Martinez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Martinez's hand. Wright cracks Martinez with a right hand to the side of the head. Wright tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Martinez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Martinez tries a head kick but it misses.

Wright decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Martinez tries to roll over but Wright keeps him under control. Wright is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martinez is just riding it out for now. Wright eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright wants to free his trapped foot but Martinez is holding on for dear life with his legs. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wright working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Wright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martinez's head. Wright scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Wright sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Martinez defending well though. Martinez tries to get to full guard but Wright has control of the leg. Wright is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez is trying to maintain the position but Wright is very close to passing his half guard. Wright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Martinez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Martinez tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wright has advanced to mount. Uh oh. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wright fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright avoids the attempt from Martinez to control. Martinez is desperately trying to improve his position but Wright has a good base and remains in mount. Wright landing shots from mount. A nice elbow there by Wright. Wright lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Martinez is rocked! Martinez tries to lock up and control but Wright gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Martinez is trying desperately to improve position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wright is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright landing strikes from the mount and Martinez is in trouble! Wright avoids the attempt from Martinez to control. Wright working away from the top, dropping strikes. Wright putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Oh Martinez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wright connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wright controlling from the full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Martinez is working to get back to half guard.
Martinez seems to have got his legs back now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Payton Wright dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Wright cracks a nice hook into Martinez's ribs. Wright closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wright lands in his opponent's guard. Wright throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Martinez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wright. Wright postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wright working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wright doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wright manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Martinez has his foot on Wright's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wright works his way back into a safe position though. Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Martinez pulls Wright in close to his closed guard and prevents Wright from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright distracts Martinez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Payton Wright has got the better of the ground game so far. Wright throwing strikes from guard but Martinez blocks nicely. Martinez has his foot on Wright's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martinez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wright must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wow, fantastic work there by Martinez! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jesus Martinez! After winning the bout, Jesus Martinez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
