Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Stenkov. That's going to slow Velasquez down.
Velasquez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stenkov manages to avoid it.
Velasquez looks to land a right hand but Stenkov moved out of range.
Stenkov misses the shot to the body.
Velasquez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Stenkov tries to close the distance and clinch but Velasquez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Velasquez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stenkov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stenkov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Stenkov throws a head kick but Velasquez moves out of range.
Velasquez catches Stenkov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Alexandr Stenkov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stenkov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Velasquez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Velasquez misses with a body shot.
Stenkov moves out of range of the body kick from Velasquez.
Velasquez throws a leg kick but Stenkov sees it coming and moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stenkov lands a right hook to the body.
Velasquez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stenkov seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Stenkov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Velasquez circles away quickly and effectively.
Stenkov throws a leg kick but Velasquez sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Stenkov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Velasquez on the side of the head.
Stenkov misses with the combination.
Alexandr Stenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velasquez slips under a jab from Stenkov.
Stenkov throws a leg kick
and Velasquez counters with a right hand to the body.
Stenkov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Velasquez misses with a few strikes there.
Velasquez throws a shot from downtown. Stenkov moves away and avoids it.
Stenkov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Velasquezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Stenkov tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Velasquez counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Velasquez cracks Stenkov with an open hand slap.
Velasquez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Velasquez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Stenkov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Velasquez momentarily.
Velasquez scores with a one two! Stenkov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Velasquez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stenkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Velasquez.
Velasquez tests Stenkov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Velasquez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Stenkov takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Stenkov throws a leg kick
and Velasquez counters with a crisp right hand that drops Stenkov! Velasquez lets Stenkov back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Stenkov looks to score with a jab to the body but Velasquez is just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stenkov misses with a looping left.
Velasquez throws a jab when Stenkov was well out of range.
Velasquez has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A swing and a miss from Velasquez.
Velasquez slips a jab and a cross from Stenkov.
Stenkov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stenkov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Velasquez throws a nice inside leg kick.
Velasquez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Stenkov is looking to chop away at Velasquez's legs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Velasquez.
Stenkov is breathing heavily.
Stenkov tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Velasquez throws a nice outside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Velasquez lands with a nice body punch.
Velasquez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Velasquez lands a big right hand that sends Stenkov crashing to the mat! Velasquez stays standing though and waves Stenkov back to his feet!
Stenkov is rocked!
Velasquez flashes Stenkov a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Stenkov's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Stenkov crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Velasquez punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Juan Velasquez!
A very excited looking Juan Velasquez made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
