Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mma Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Doherty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mma Fighter! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fighter with a jab. Fighter's corner calls for a 1-2. Fighter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Doherty closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fighter quickly recovers to half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fighter is positioning himself well to prevent Doherty advancing to mount. Doherty not doing much here.
Doherty thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fighter's head. Fighter regains full guard. Nicely done. Fighter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fighter is trying to control the position but Doherty postures up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fighter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Doherty manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Doherty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fighter connects with a couple of short punches. Doherty had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fighter defends it easily. Fighter is in close to Doherty's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fighter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Doherty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fighter is pushing down on Doherty's leg trying to pass to half guard. Doherty is fighting to maintain full guard but Fighter has managed to sneak the leg through. Fighter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Fighter scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doherty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fighter. Doherty taking some punishment here, with Fighter in his half guard. Doherty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fighter on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Doherty is staying active underneath Fighter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Doherty wants to improve his position but Fighter is controlling well.
Doherty won't allow Fighter to pass to mount. Fighter is keen to just control but Doherty is a slippery customer. The fighters are battling for position here. Doherty manages to regain full guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter lands with an overhand left. Excellent takedown into side control there by Doherty. Doherty taking a breather here. Doherty is looking to take a break and control but Fighter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Fighter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Doherty misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Fighter is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Doherty off and has taken his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Will Fighter go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fighter struggling to land strikes to the head as Doherty covers up. Doherty looking very determined here, making life difficult for Fighter.
Fighter has the hooks in. Doherty is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mma Fighter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Doherty misses with a takedown attempt - Fighter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Doherty shoots in and gets a takedown into Fighter's guard. Doherty has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Doherty won't allow Fighter to sweep him here. Fighter keeps trying to improve his position. Fighter wants to improve his position but instead Doherty has moved into half guard.

Fighter won't allow Doherty to pass to mount. Doherty uses his free foot to push down on Fighter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fighter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter tries to hold on but Doherty postures up. Fighter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Fighter postures up in Doherty's guard and throws a big left but Doherty blocks it. Doherty looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Doherty controls Fighter momentarily but Fighter frees himself. Fighter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Fighter staying out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doherty throws a leg kick and Fighter counters with a stiff right hand. Doherty takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doherty shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Fighter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fighter wants it to stay on the feet. Doherty loads up on a big right hand but Fighter slips the punch. Doherty manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fighter on his heels. He'll look to pass Fighter's guard now, I'm sure. Fighter has Doherty pulled in close to control his posture. Fighter keeping full guard, as Doherty tries to pass. Fighter looking to control.
Fighter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Doherty's guard. Fighter throws a big right hand that misses. Doherty trying to keep a closed guard but Fighter is proving a slippery customer.
Doherty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fighter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fighter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mma Fighter wasn't active enough on the ground. Doherty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Doherty. That's going to take a lot out of him. A combination from Doherty does no damage. Mma Fighter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Doherty is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fighter. Doherty closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A big right from Doherty misses. Doherty takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Doherty seems to have got his legs back now. Mma Fighter has got the better of the ground game so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fighter wants to sweep here but Doherty controlling him for the moment.

Doherty is looking to work some ground and pound but Fighter has wrist control. Doherty not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fighter wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Fighter comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Josh Doherty has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! This has been an exciting period of action! Doherty swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Doherty will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

And that's the end of the fight! Mma Fighter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fighter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
