Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Al Bartlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BabyJay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). BabyJay Penn acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Bartlett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, BabyJay Penn! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bartlett lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Penn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Bartlett dodges the punch combination from Penn.
Bartlett lands a jab to Penn's midsection. Penn takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bartlett connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Penn scrambles back to his feet.
Penn is rocked! Penn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bartlett closes the distance and pushes Penn back into the cage. Penn is still on wobbly legs! Can Bartlett finish him? Bartlett keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Penn's efforts to push away. Penn seems to have recovered his senses. Bartlett breaks from the clinch.
Nice jab there from Bartlett. Bartlett connects with a right hand. Penn shakes it off. Bartlett swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Penn. Penn clinches up against the cage. Bartlett breaks the clinch.
Bartlett displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn. Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bartlett's waist but Bartlett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side. Penn moves away from the strike by Bartlett.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bartlett but Bartlett pushes him off and we're back to square one. Al Bartlett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BabyJay Penn. Bartlett steps into range and cracks Penn with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Penn flops backwards and Bartlett dives into his guard looking to finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bartlett passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bartlett is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Penn sees it coming and defends easily. Bartlett drops an elbow to the side of Penn's head. Bartlett thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Penn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bartlett lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Penn wants to control but Bartlett is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bartlett connects with a nice short shot to Penn's temple. Bartlett scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bartlett trying to pass the guard but Penn defending well. Bartlett is trying to work for a kimura but Penn is defending well.
Bartlett scoring with strikes to the body and head. Penn has hold of Bartlett's hands but Bartlett slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bartlett working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bartlett trying to control the pace. Penn wants to get back to his feet.
Penn on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Bartlett there. Bartlett winds up and cracks Penn with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bartlett is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bartlett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Penn is just riding it out for now. Bartlett eventually gives up the hold. Bartlett is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Penn has managed to free his arm - good work. Penn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bartlett trying to mount his opponent but Penn defends it. Bartlett thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bartlett is working away from the top position though. Bartlett moves into full mount! Penn won't be happy about that! Bartlett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bartlett has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Penn's face.
BOOM! Bartlett connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bartlett raining down shots from the mount! Bartlett raining down hammerfists from mount. Bartlett goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Penn is on top in guard.
Bartlett wants to stand but Penn is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Bartlett dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Penn takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bartlett throws a right and a left that Penn avoids nicely. Penn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bartlett. Bartlett scores with a decent looking hook. Bartlett connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Bartlett misses with an uppercut
and Penn counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Penn. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Penn won't allow Bartlett to get back to his feet. Penn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bartlett wants to stand and escape but Penn is having none of it. Bartlett is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Penn can do to turn this around? Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Bartlett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Al Bartlett wasn't doing enough on the ground. A jab from Bartlett finds it's way through Penn's defenses. Bartlett connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Penn takes one to the side of the head.
Al Bartlett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Penn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bartlett connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Penn scrambles back to his feet. Penn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bartlett as he jumps to the side. Bartlett feints with a jab and clips Penn right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Penn is sent crashing into the canvas and Bartlett leaps in for the kill! Penn tries to get to his feet but Bartlett is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Penn is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Al Bartlett! A very excited looking Al Bartlett made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
