Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxi Preist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky Rock has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ricky Rock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxi Preist! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Rock. Rock shoots in looking for a takedown. Preist tries to sprawl out of it but Rock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Preist manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rock. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Rock. That's going to take a lot out of him. Preist fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Preist persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Preist lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Preist sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rock defending well though. Rock is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maxi Preist was stalling too much, according to the referee. Preist clinches with his opponent.
Preist gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Preist is working away from the top position though. Preist takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preist wants to stand but Rock has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Preist tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rock knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Preist is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maxi Preist was stalling too much, according to the referee. Preist dives in and scores a takedown into Rock's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Preist content to stall in guard here. Preist stands up from Rock's guard - Preist perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rock shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Preist's guard. Rock is breathing heavily. Rock stopping the sweep attempt from Preist. Rock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rock stands up over Preist, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Rock being controlled here momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Preist has his feet on Rock's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Preist shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Preist wants to free his trapped foot but Rock is holding on for dear life with his legs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Preist wants to work for an arm triangle but Rock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maxi Preist dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rock misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Preist shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rock as he jumps to the side. Rock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Preist tries to avoid it but Rock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Preist to the ground. Preist escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Preist shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rock defends it nicely. Preist closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rock to the mat! Rock manages to get full guard. Rock has control of Preist's left arm, preventing Preist from doing any damage. Preist throwing strikes but missing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Preist scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rock wants to sweep but no luck. Preist scoring with punches to the head and body. Rock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Preist gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Preist must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Preist stands and throws Rock's legs to the side, diving into side control. Rock trying to remain calm as Preist controls from the top position. Preist stands up and we're back to a striking position. Preist has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preist cracks Rock with a nice body shot. Preist pushes Rock back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Preist gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Preist maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Rock could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Preist has cracked it and Rock is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Preist!
