Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pabst Ribbon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribbon throws a nice looking combination but Scott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ribbon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pabst Ribbon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scott clinches up with Ribbon and pushes him back against the cage.
Ribbon gets underhooks to prevent Scott's takedown attempt.
Ribbon is trying to break the clinch but Scott has him pressed against the cage.

Scott manages to pull guard.
Scott manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Scott jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ribbon manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Scott tries to move to mount but Ribbon blocks the move with his legs.

Scott fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Scott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ribbon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Scott ducks under a wild hook from Ribbon.

Ribbon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ribbon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Scott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Scott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Scott keeps control of Ribbon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ribbon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ribbon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ribbon pulls his leg out and moves away.

Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ribbon tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ribbon to the ground. Ribbon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Horrible takedown by Scott or perhaps it was just good defense by Ribbon which made him look bad.

Scott looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ribbon!
Ribbon is looking to improve his position but Scott isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Scott swings around for an armbar but Ribbon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Scott's guard.

Scott manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Scott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ribbon is positioning himself well to prevent Scott advancing to mount.

Scott is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ribbon is just riding it out for now. Scott eventually gives up the hold.

Scott throws a strike but Ribbon avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Scott is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ribbon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ribbon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Scott is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Scott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Scott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ribbon is looking to work some ground and pound but Scott has wrist control.
Ribbon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Michael Scott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Michael Scott.
