Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Palicki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anthony States!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

States shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
States is looking to pass Palicki's guard but actually Palicki recovers to full guard.
States is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
States wants to stand but Palicki is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palicki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
States looking to sit in guard and control but Palicki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Palicki trying to control but States is working from the bottom.
States controls Palicki momentarily but Palicki frees himself.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if States can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palicki slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Palicki is looking to take a break and control but States is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
States struggling a bit here.
States dodges the ground and pound from Palicki.
Palicki throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Palicki works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Palicki misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Palicki lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear States down.
States really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palicki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
States managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Palicki.
Palicki taking a break here but States is having none of it and regains half guard.

Palicki seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. States is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
