3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dane Kane! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane gets a takedown into half guard. Kane is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bernados looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kane wants to free his trapped foot but Bernados is holding on for dear life with his legs.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dane Kane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kane closes the distance and clinches. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dane Kane. Kane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bernados, pushing him back against the cage. Kane manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Bernados goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kane prevents it.
Kane creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. We've been informed that Kane has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kane tries to break the clinch but Bernados is controlling the position. Bernados tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kane just stands there and leans against the cage. Bernados tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kane smiles and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kane changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bernados looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bernados keeps working. Kane tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dane Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kane postures up and lands a big shot to Bernados's brow. Kane wants to get up but he can't break Bernados's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernados. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kane controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

This has been an exciting period of action! Bernados wants to stand and escape but Kane is having none of it. Kane is looking to pass into half guard but Bernados pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bernados is in guard.
