14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takeshi Kovacks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Angus McLoughlin! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLoughlin just misses with a punch to the body.
McLoughlin thows a leg kick but Kovacks checks it and Kovacks counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for McLoughlin! McLoughlin regains half guard. Kovacks is looking to take a break and control but McLoughlin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kovacks stops McLoughlin from getting back to his feet.
Kovacks has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. McLoughlin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kovacks thows a huge punch but McLoughlin dodges it nicely.
Kovacks is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kovacks throwing shots but McLoughlin is blocking nicely. Kovacks tries to pass to full mount but McLoughlin defends it. McLoughlin trying to control from the bottom.
Kovacks is keen to just control but McLoughlin is a slippery customer. McLoughlin is trying to stand up here but Kovacks is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovacks winds up and cracks McLoughlin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kovacks is keen to just control but McLoughlin is a slippery customer. Kovacks is pressing down on McLoughlin's thigh, looking to free his foot. McLoughlin is holding on for now. McLoughlin is trying to get back to full guard. Kovacks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McLoughlin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kovacks content to control rather than advance. Kovacks passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McLoughlin! McLoughlin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

McLoughlin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McLoughlin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Kovacks tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Kovacks looking to control but McLoughlin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. McLoughlin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kovacks lands a couple of good shots and McLoughlin has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Kovacks really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for McLoughlin. Kovacks connects with a big shot to the side of McLoughlin's head.
McLoughlin is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Kovacks off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kovacks missing with strikes from the back. McLoughlin is in bad spot here.
Kovacks thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Kovacks has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. McLoughlin is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Kovacks throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Kovacks avoiding McLoughlin 's attempts to control his hands. Kovacks has McLoughlin flattened out and is raining down punches. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kovacks cracks McLoughlin with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing McLoughlin from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLoughlin gets cracked with a huge elbow and he's out cold! Possibly KO of the night from the back? Unusual but possible!
