PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Corrida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Corrida's choice of entrance music: Shadowhunter. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cameron Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Corrida!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark missing with a left hand there. Corrida was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cameron Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clark on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Corrida. Corrida obviously looking to wear him down.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Corrida is defended easily by Clark.
Clark swings widly with a right hand
and Corrida counters with a nice leg kick.
Corrida fails with an attempt to clinch.
Corrida wants to clinch up but Clark keeps it at a distance.
Corrida throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Corrida shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Clark scores with a jab to the jaw.
Clark misses with an uppercut.
Corrida blocks a jab.
Corrida dives in and grabs Clark's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clark pushes down on Corrida's head and hops out.
Corrida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've been told by Clark's head coaches at Caveman Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Clark lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Clark misses with an uppercut. Corrida saw that one coming.
Clark misses with a wild body shot.

Clark scoring well with a low kick there.
Clark defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Corrida.
Cameron Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Corrida.

Clark throws a hook but Corrida avoids it easily.
Corrida tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clark swivels and escapes.

Clark takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Clark counters by moving into the clinch.

Corrida blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Corrida can't break the clinch.
Corrida is looking to take this one to the mat.
Corrida misses with a punch on the inside.
Corrida jumps guard but Clark stands there with Corrida around his waist. Corrida gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Corrida takes a shot to the head.
Clark throws a head punch that misses.
Clark throws a punch but it's blocked by Corrida.
Clark struggles to land a body shot inside as Corrida controls his hands.
Clark swings wildly with an uppercut but Corrida uses good head movement to avoid it.
Corrida tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clark just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Corrida blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Clark lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Corrida is trying to drag Clark to the mat but Clark just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Clark putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Corrida in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Clark.
Clark fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Corrida is trying to pull guard but Clark has him pressed against the cage.
Corrida tries for a takedown but Clark manages to get underhooks.
Corrida tries to circle away but Clark has him pinned against the cage.
Corrida is working for takedown but Clark is calmly controlling the position for now.
Corrida is looking to break free of the clinch but Clark has double underhooks.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clark.
Clark misses with some punches.
Corrida tries to break free but Clark pushes him back against the cage.

Corrida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Corrida misses with a head kick.

Clark has Corrida up against the cage in a clinch.
Clark tries to throw a body punch but Corrida avoids it by throwing Clark back against the cage.
Corrida using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Clark has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Clark misses with a hook from the clinch.
Clark tries to land a knee to the head but Corrida blocks with his arms.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Corrida pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clark scores with a jab to the jaw.
Clark dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cameron Clark dominated that round.
That's time! Clark's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Corrida.
Clark jabs Corrida to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Clark lands a jab.
Clark circles away from the clinch attempt

and Clark moves into the clinch.
Clark throws a knee to the head but misses.
Clark looking to throw knees to the head but Corrida is blocking nicely.
Clark scores with a shoulder strike.
Corrida fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Corrida is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Clark gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Clark working aggressively here.
Corrida tries to break free but Clark pushes him back against the cage.
Corrida tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Clark smiles and moves away.

Clark stuffs the takedown attempt from Corrida. Corrida gets slowly back to his feet.
Clark throws a big shot that misses.
Clark slips a jab and a cross from Corrida.
Corrida fails with the takedown.
Clark throws a body punch but Corrida moves out of range.
Clark throws a hook to the side of Corrida's head but Corrida sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Corrida closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Corrida lands in his opponent's guard.
Corrida won't allow Clark to get back to his feet.

Clark escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Corrida gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Corrida controlling from the top position.

Clark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Corrida defends it easily.
Corrida stands up over Clark, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Corrida wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clark has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Corrida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Corrida cracks Clark with a solid left hand.
Corrida postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Corrida controls from within his opponent's guard.
Clark keeping moving, preventing Corrida from controlling successfully.

Clark wants to stand but Corrida is controlling the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Corrida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Corrida would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Clark looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Clark is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Corrida is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Corrida stays in close to Clark's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Juan Corrida will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Clark doesn't manage to clinch there - Corrida circles away.

Corrida takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Corrida bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Clark finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Corrida shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Clark sprawls well. Clark wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Corrida gets slowly back to his feet.
Clark throws a right and a left that Corrida avoids nicely.

Corrida closes the distance and clinches up with Clark, looking for a takedown. Corrida pushes Clark against the cage but Clark circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Clark lands a nice shot to the body.
Corrida cracks Clark with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Corrida has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Clark is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clark.
Clark prevents a takedown attempt there.
Clark swings away with an uppercut that misses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Clark creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Corrida is trying to trip Clark. He has hold of a leg but Clark is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Corrida persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clark is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Corrida is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corrida trying to stand up but can't free himself from Clark's guard.
Corrida wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.

Clark is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Corrida defends well.

Clark looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Corrida in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Corrida stops Clark from standing up.

Corrida postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

I would just about give that final round to Juan Corrida.
I think Corrida has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
