Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Trane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Trane will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Ngo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Trane! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trane misses with an uppercut
and Ngo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Trane misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ngo.
Trane lands a shot to the body. Ngo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Trane tries to land knees in the clinch but Ngo avoids the damage to the body. Ngo has picked Trane up - he's going for a ride! Ngo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Trane on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Trane wants to get back to his feet.
Trane is looking for a sweep. Ngo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ngo seems to be looking for submissions.
Ngo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ngo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Trane to regain full guard. Trane preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Trane working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ngo. Trane keeping moving, preventing Ngo from controlling successfully. Ngo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Trane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ngo manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ngo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ngo seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Trane controlling from the top position. Ngo looking to control.

Trane is stalling in the full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trane tries to free his leg and advance position but Ngo is retaining full guard. Trane stands and throws Ngo's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ngo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Trane's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Ngo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ngo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ngo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trane is one step ahead there. Trane tries to free his leg and advance position but Ngo is retaining full guard. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Trane. Ngo shoots in and drives through. Trane sprawls well. Ngo circles away from the clinch attempt.

Trane is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Ngo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knees to the body from Trane.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ngo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Trane is trying to keep an underhook but Ngo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Trane has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Ngo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Trane works his way to full guard. Good work. Ngo throwing strikes from guard but Trane blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Trane will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ngo shoots in for a takedown but Trane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Trane cracks Ngo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Trane pushes down on Ngo's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Ngo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ngo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trane tries to avoid it but Ngo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trane to the ground. Trane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Trane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ngo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Trane but Trane pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ngo shoots in but no luck this time. A head kick misses from Trane. Ngo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trane's guard. Trane looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ngo has picked Trane up and slammed him! Trane can't keep hold of the triangle and Ngo manages to pass to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ngo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Trane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ngo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Trane gets back to half guard. Ngo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Trane is just riding it out for now. Ngo eventually gives up the hold. Ngo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Trane defending well though. Trane is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ngo wants to pass the guard but Trane is defending well. Trane is looking to control Ngo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Trane avoid being mounted? Trane gets back to full guard.
Trane is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ngo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Trane looking for a triangle here. Ngo is fighting it but it looks tight! Trane pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ngo is tapping out - this one is all over!
