Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geovane Goulart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Babcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Geovane Goulart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Babcock!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock slips a straight right by Goulart.
Babcock moves away from the strike by Goulart.
Goulart throws a lazy right hand but Babcock sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Babcock closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Goulart's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Goulart looking for subs off his back but Babcock has passed one foot through into half guard.

Babcock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Goulart's head.
Still in half guard, Babcock seems content to control.

Goulart is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Babcock pulls his head out easily.

Babcock frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Goulart tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Babcock scores with a couple of good head shots there.

We've been informed that Babcock has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Babcock is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Babcock creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Babcock tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goulart takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Babcock shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Goulart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Goulart is looking for a triangle here but Babcock uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Babcock lands a decent elbow from side control.
Goulart on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Goulart is looking for a sweep.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Babcock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Babcock is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Goulart can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kyle Babcock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Goulart gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Babcock to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kyle Babcock seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
