PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Loki Norseman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heino Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Norseman tries to keep at a distance but Green has taken the fight into the clinch.
Green tries to score a body lock takedown but Norseman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Green is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Green throws an elbow but it misses.

Green has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Norseman regains guard immediately.

Green is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Norseman is just riding it out for now. Green eventually gives up the hold.

Green throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Norseman was covering up waiting for the punch and Green finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Norseman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Green on the ground.
Green is pushing down on Norseman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Norseman is fighting to maintain full guard but Green has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Green decides to stand and escape the position.
Norseman shoots in and drives through. Green sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Green shoots in and bounces Norseman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Green accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Norseman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Green is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Norseman looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Norseman is not content to let Green control the position.
Norseman is trying to escape the position but Green is controlling the position.

Green stands up and beckons Norseman to his feet.

Norseman darts in and clinches Green up against the cage.
Green jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Norseman walks away with a smile on his face. Green gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Norseman shoots in and drives through. Green sprawls well.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up but Norseman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Green escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Norseman fakes the leg kick and cracks Green in the body.

Green dives in and scores a takedown into Norseman's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Green stays in close to Norseman's body and controls the position.
Green is looking to stand up but Norseman won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Green connects with a couple of short punches.

Heino Green showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Green closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Green gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Green takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Norseman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Green postures up and lands a big shot to Norseman's brow.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Norseman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Norseman's legs - danger averted.
Green sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Norseman's guard.

Green has hold of Norseman's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Norseman tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Green cranks the arm and Norseman screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Norseman, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
