Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juri Boyka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bud Diesel !
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyka tries to clinch but Diesel moves away
and Diesel counters with a shoot takedown. Boyka fights it but they end up in guard.
Boyka looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Diesel sitting in guard here, content to control.
Boyka keeping full guard, as Diesel tries to pass.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boyka looks to clinch
and Diesel counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Diesel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Diesel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Diesel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Diesel controls the position from side control.
Diesel 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diesel is working to tighten is grip on Boyka's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Boyka has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Diesel is really squeezing tight and eventually Boyka passes out! Diesel breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
