Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nes Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nes Quick has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Phoenix ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nes Quick! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quick closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Phoenix did well to prevent Quick getting side control. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Quick missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Phoenix is trying to get back to full guard. Phoenix keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Quick missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Phoenix has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quick is working away from the top position though. Quick stops Phoenix from getting back to his feet.

Quick thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Quick has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Quick working over Phoenix with some ground and pound. Phoenix looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are battling for position here. Phoenix manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Quick throwing strikes but missing. Quick won't allow Phoenix to sweep him here. Phoenix has Quick pulled in close to control his posture. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Phoenix keeping moving, preventing Quick from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix pulls Quick in to control the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Quick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Phoenix lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Quick! Phoenix get's back to his feet. Quick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Phoenix is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Quick has just dragged him back down to the mat. Quick throws an elbow but Phoenix slips to the side and avoids it well. Quick sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Phoenix is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Quick working away. Quick misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Phoenix is not content to let Quick control the position. Quick working away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Quick throws a strike aimed at the side of Phoenix 's head but Phoenix avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix is not content to let Quick control the position. Quick creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Phoenix sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Phoenix tries to escape but Quick is in control. Quick landing strikes. Quick throws a strike aimed at the side of Phoenix 's head but Phoenix avoids it well. Quick tries to move into full mount but can't pass Phoenix 's legs. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Quick prevents Phoenix from escaping the position. Phoenix gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phoenix avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Quick. Phoenix is doing well to control the position and prevent Quick from advancing to side control. Quick prevents Phoenix from standing back up.
Phoenix is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quick working over Phoenix with some ground and pound. Phoenix looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix controlling the position for now. Quick throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Phoenix to regain full guard. Phoenix is trying to control the position but Quick postures up. Quick should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Phoenix is on top in guard.
Phoenix tries to stand but Quick is controlling from the bottom. Phoenix preventing the sweep. Quick has a closed guard, preventing Phoenix from standing up. Phoenix trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Phoenix gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Phoenix lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Phoenix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Quick tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Phoenix swivels and escapes. Quick misses with a left hand and Phoenix counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Quick looks winded! A left lands for Phoenix . Phoenix chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Quick looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. The crowd cheers as Phoenix lands an impressive looking overhand right. Quick doesn't seem phased though. Phoenix throws a series of punches but Quick avoids them all with ease. Phoenix moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Phoenix lands a nice shot that snaps Quick's head back.
Phoenix lands a big uppercut and Quick crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Quick looks OK. Phoenix waves Quick back to his feet!
Quick is rocked! Simon Phoenix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Phoenix connects with a single shot there. Quick is still on wobbly legs! Can Phoenix finish him? Phoenix lands a nice shot that snaps Quick's head back.
Phoenix is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Phoenix drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Quick right on the button. Quick goes down! Phoenix follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Phoenix gets the win via TKO!
