PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eliah Marshal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsden comes to the cage accompanied by Shot to the Double Glock by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshal lands with a shot to the body.

Marsden misses with an uppercut
and Marshal counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Brandon Marsden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marshal lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Marsden connects with a good right hand that stumbles Marshal. Marshal circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Marsden has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym in the buildup to the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Marsden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marshal throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Marshal tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Marsden is able to avoid easily.

Marsden is trying to break the clinch but Marshal is controlling him.
Marsden wants to get back to striking at distance but Marshal won't allow it.

Marsden's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Marsden is trying to drag Marshal to the mat but Marshal just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Marsden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marshal has him pressed against the cage.

Marsden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marshal looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marshal looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marshal!

Marsden tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Marshal presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marsden is working hard here to advance position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Marshal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marsden manages to avoid it.
Marsden takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Marshal tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Marsden wants a takedown but no success here.

Marsden has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Marshal regains guard immediately.

Marshal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Marsden throws an elbow that misses. Marshal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marsden's guard. Nice move by Marshal!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marshal doesn't have the hooks in and Marsden manages to turn into his guard.

I would just about give that final round to Eliah Marshal.
I've got Marshal winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
