Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Strikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Strikes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 28 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Marek Koltun!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strikes tries to clinch there but Koltun circles away.
Koltun keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Koltun lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Koltun closes the distance and pushes Strikes back into the cage.

Koltun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Strikes throws a head kick but Koltun moves out of range.
Strikes slips a jab from Koltun.
Strikes lands a leg kick that knocks Koltun off balance momentarily.
Koltun lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Koltun misses the shot to the body.
Koltun takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Strikes moves forwards but Koltun connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Strikes clinches up with Koltun and pushes him back against the cage.

Nice body punch from Strikes - that landed with a thud.
Koltun is trying to break free.
Strikes can't break the clinch.
Koltun blocks the elbow strike.

Koltun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Strikes has closed the distance and engaged Koltun in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Koltun.

Strikes prevents a takedown attempt there.
A head punch on the inside from Koltun fails to land.

Strikes's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Koltun pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Koltun has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Koltun counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Koltun.
Strikes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Strikes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Koltun is controlling him.
Koltun stays in close to Strikes's body and controls the position.
Koltun wants to pass the guard but Strikes is keeping the position.

Koltun lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Strikes circles away quickly and effectively.

Koltun rushes Strikes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Strikes's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Strikes is trying to maintain a safe position but Koltun gets an underhook and turns Strikes into the cage.

Koltun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Strikes misses with a lunging right hand
and Strikes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Strikes closes the distance but Koltun moves to the side
and Koltun counters with a body kick that stops Strikes in his tracks momentarily.

A solid leg kick lands there for Koltun.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Koltun paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Strikes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Strikes avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Strikes throws a head kick that misses.

Strikes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Strikes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Some wild striking there from Koltun.
Sloppy strikes from Koltun. Those never looked like landing.
Strikes wants to clinch.

Strikes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Koltun throws out the jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Koltun connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A nice leg kick lands there from Koltun.

Koltun looks for the body kick but Strikes saw that one coming.

Strikes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Strikes lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Koltun is trying to trip Strikes. He has hold of a leg but Strikes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Koltun persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Strikes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

I've got Koltun winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
