Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan McAlister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Makers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McAlister kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ylvis - The Fox . Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Duncan McAlister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Makers!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McAlister misses with a low kick.
Makers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McAlister manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Makers, as that shot connected.

McAlister clinches.
McAlister jumps guard but Makers stands there with McAlister around his waist. McAlister gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McAlister jumps guard but Makers turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Makers lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Makers throws a punch but it's blocked by McAlister.
With the fighters up against the cage, Makers throws an elbow but misses.
Makers tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
McAlister is trying to pull guard but Makers has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Duncan McAlister. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McAlister jumps guard and drags Makers to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

McAlister is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Makers defends well.

Makers wants to get up but he can't break McAlister's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That was a close round but I would say that Duncan McAlister will probably get the nod.

McAlister lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Makers circles away quickly and effectively.

McAlister gets control of Makers's arms and successfully pulls guard. McAlister will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

McAlister seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

McAlister jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Makers walks away with a smile on his face. McAlister gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

I was talking to McAlister's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
