Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murray Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyo Kurosaki! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danga de danga de dang - Jackson scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Kyo Kurosaki has been cut. Jackson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kurosaki takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Jackson loads up on a big right hand but Kurosaki slips the punch. Jackson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kurosaki back to the cage. Jackson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson misses the jab. Jackson throws a hook but Kurosaki avoids it easily. Kurosaki finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Kurosaki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jackson. Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kurosaki, pushing him back against the cage. Jackson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kurosaki backwards. Kurosaki jumps guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Jackson is working Kurosaki over against the cage. Jackson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kurosaki is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jackson to keep the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jackson. Kurosaki tries to score a body lock takedown but Jackson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Murray Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyo Kurosaki. Kurosaki tries to pull guard but Jackson forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Kurosaki swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Kurosaki tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kurosaki tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Kurosaki drops back down to his feet.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jackson. I was talking to Jackson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kurosaki is looking to take this one to the mat. A nice left hand lands by Jackson.

Kurosaki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it. Jackson throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kurosaki has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jackson finds it's way round the side to connect with Kurosaki's head. Jackson just misses with a punch to the body.

and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jackson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Kurosaki tries to pull guard but Jackson won't allow it.

Kurosaki is still on wobbly legs! Can Jackson finish him? A short left from Jackson. Jackson has a couple of punches blocked by Kurosaki.
Kurosaki lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kurosaki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kurosaki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kurosaki is on top in guard.
Kurosaki seems to have recovered his senses. Kurosaki trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson is trying to control the position but Kurosaki postures up.

Kurosaki throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kurosaki wants to sweep but no luck. Kurosaki is pulling down on Jackson's head. It's preventing any offense from Jackson, at least for the moment. Kurosaki controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurosaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Kurosaki, not yet. Kurosaki keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Murray Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kurosaki with a nice cross. Kurosaki throws a big shot that misses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson scores with a sloppy right hand. Kurosaki should have avoided that one. A jab lands there for Jackson. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Murray Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kyo Kurosaki's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kurosaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.

Kurosaki has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Jackson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Kurosaki can turn it around. Jackson lands with a right to the head. Kurosaki tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Kurosaki drops back down to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kurosaki is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A short right from Jackson. Jackson scores with a shot to the side of Kurosaki's head. Kurosaki trying to stall but Jackson improves his position.

Kurosaki goes for a takedown attempt but Jackson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kurosaki tries to clinch but Jackson moves away and Jackson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kurosaki dives in for a single leg takedown but Jackson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A short left from Jackson. Kurosaki blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Jackson tries to stand but Kurosaki is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control but Kurosaki is working from the bottom. Jackson wants to stand but Kurosaki is controlling his posture from full guard. Kurosaki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kurosaki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackson!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurosaki punching from mount but Jackson doing a good job of avoiding damage. Jackson is looking to improve his position but Kurosaki isn't that keen on the idea. Poor strikes thrown by Kurosaki there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kurosaki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jackson taking shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kurosaki unloading with bombs! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson gets back to half guard. Jackson controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Kurosaki throwing shots but Jackson is blocking nicely. Kyo Kurosaki has got the better of the ground game so far. Kurosaki thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kurosaki scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jackson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kurosaki. Jackson is staying active underneath Kurosaki, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kyo Kurosaki will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson takes a swing at Kurosaki's ribcage but misses. Kurosaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes. Jackson lands a jab to Kurosaki's midsection. Jackson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kurosaki.
Kurosaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kurosaki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nice straight punches there by Jackson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jackson. Kurosaki darts in looking for a takedown but Jackson gets double underhooks and turns Kurosaki into the cage. Murray Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyo Kurosaki. Kurosaki pulls guard effortlessly. Jackson being controlled here momentarily. Kurosaki wants to control but Jackson passes easily into half guard.

Murray Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jackson with a hook. Kurosaki on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Kurosaki is just out of range. Kurosaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
