Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil deGrasse Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teppo Tahkojuusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tahkojuusto is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC : T.N.T. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! deGrasse Tyson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. deGrasse Tyson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tahkojuusto, who protects the arm well. Tahkojuusto is pushing deGrasse Tyson's head away, looking to escape. deGrasse Tyson manages to hold on to the position though. Tahkojuusto tries to improve position but can't. Tahkojuusto has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. deGrasse Tyson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tahkojuusto is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. deGrasse Tyson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tahkojuusto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tahkojuusto manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Tahkojuusto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so deGrasse Tyson is just riding it out for now. Tahkojuusto eventually gives up the hold. deGrasse Tyson wants to get back to full guard.

Great action here. Tahkojuusto controlling well, preventing deGrasse Tyson from escaping the position.
Tahkojuusto is looking to control deGrasse Tyson but deGrasse Tyson is wriggling around and keeping busy. Tahkojuusto is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. deGrasse Tyson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Tahkojuusto's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Tahkojuusto is punishing deGrasse Tyson with some ground and pound. Tahkojuusto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tahkojuusto has deGrasse Tyson flattened out and is raining down punches. This has been an exciting period of action! deGrasse Tyson wants to escape the position.
