Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Godin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Axe will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diego Godin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Axe!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godin misses with a kick to the body.
Axe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Axe tries to clinch there but Godin circles away.
Godin throws a leg kick that misses.
Axe throws a right hand that misses
and Godin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Godin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Godin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Axe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Axe working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Godin.
Godin throws a big elbow that misses.
Godin passes Axe's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Godin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Axe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Godin.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Godin looks to land a strike but Axe avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Godin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Godin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Axe has momentary wrist control but Godin slips an elbow through the middle.
Axe will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Godin pushing down on Axe's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Godin tries to pass to full mount but Axe defends it.
Axe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Axe is defending against the submission attempts here by Godin.
Godin is pressing down on Axe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Axe is holding on for now.
Godin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Axe wants to improve his position but Godin is controlling well.
Well, if Godin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Axe tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Godin manages to move to mount!

Godin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Godin cracks Axe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Godin breaks from Axe's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Godin blocks Axe's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Godin tries to control but Axe wriggling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Godin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Axe is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Godin swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
