Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philip Ryne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alfonso Castillo! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryne shoots for a double leg takedown but Castillo sprawls well. He's pushed Ryne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Castillo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nice strikes from Castillo there. Still in half guard, Castillo seems content to control. Castillo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Castillo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Castillo trying to mount his opponent but Ryne defends it. Ryne taking some punishment here, with Castillo in his half guard. Ryne is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Castillo scores with a couple of nice shots.

Castillo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ryne with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Castillo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ryne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Castillo seems to be working for a kimura but Ryne defends the submission attempt.

Castillo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ryne on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ryne pulls Castillo in close trying to recover. Castillo postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Ryne on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Ryne doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alfonso Castillo!
