Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zhenka Mechenyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Si Sangtain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mechenyj comes to the cage accompanied by Status Quo- In the ary now. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mechenyj drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sangtain tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sangtain manages to get back to half guard.

Mechenyj is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sangtain defends it well.

Sangtain is defending against the submission attempts here by Mechenyj.
Sangtain is staying active underneath Mechenyj, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mechenyj will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mechenyj seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sangtain looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sangtain flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Mechenyj is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sangtain defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mechenyj tries to pass to full mount but Sangtain defends it.
Sangtain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mechenyj scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sangtain has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mechenyj. Oh but Sangtain has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mechenyj goes limp - he's gone! Sangtain jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
